Terms of use
The agreement between you and Araia — what the app is, what it isn't, and what each of us is responsible for.
Last updated 19 August 2026
These terms apply when you use the Araia app or this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.
1. What Araia is
Araia is a tool for recording and organising information about your baby, and for asking questions about that information. It is a record-keeping and information service.
2. What Araia is not
Nothing in the app or on this website is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for professional medical care. The AI assistant, the cry analysis, the growth charts, the vaccination schedule and every article we publish are informational. They cannot examine your baby.
Always consult a qualified paediatrician about your baby's health. Never delay seeking medical care, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read here or something the app said. In an emergency, contact emergency services or go to a hospital.
The cry analysis feature produces a probabilistic suggestion from an audio recording. It is not a diagnostic device and must not be relied on to determine whether your baby needs medical attention.
Vaccination schedules and reminders are a convenience. Your paediatrician's schedule takes precedence, and you remain responsible for your child's immunisations.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure, since sign-in codes are sent there.
- You are responsible for who you invite as a caregiver and what they can then see. You can revoke access at any time.
- Tell us promptly at hello@araia.me if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
4. Your content
Everything you log and upload remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service — to store your content, show it back to you, sync it to caregivers you invite, and process it to provide features you use, such as sending a question to the AI assistant.
We do not claim ownership of your content, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. See the privacy policy for detail.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Araia to break the law, to record data about a child you have no right to record data about, to attempt to access other users' data, to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or to post abusive or harmful content in any community feature. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Payment and subscriptions
Core features are free. If we introduce paid features, the price and what it covers will be shown before you are charged. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to their billing terms, and refunds are handled by them under their policies.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Araia running and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Araia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions made on the basis of information in the app, or for data loss beyond what our backups can recover. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Araia after that means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
11. Contact
